What you may have missed
Gettin' his hair did
It's been a while since I last posted anything and I'm very, very sorry that I've been busy. I probably should have made time somewhere in between moving, going on deployments and now, getting ready for two months of photo training in Baltimore. So sorry Jaclyn Young. I didn't know how much you depended on my site.
We kind of got sick of our son looking like a scrub, so we decided to drug him and cut his hair. Just tryin' to give him a little swagger.
He was very good during the whole process. He barely moved during the whole process.

He was a little sad to see his hair go, but he got his revenge.

More to follow.

Jenn's shots
Because it's been too long since our last post, I've just dumped my camera out and am posting everything. I can't really take credit for any of these. I've been busy with work, so Jenn has taken up the reigns as photographer. Here's what she got.
He's finally starting to show off his personality a little. He's smiling and laughing a little. He's actually laughing at something downstairs as I type this.

He's a lot more active too. A couple of weeks ago he'd just lay on his play mat and just stare around and then cry until we picked him back up. Now we can leave him there for hours! ...Not that we do...just sayin.
We have so many cold weather clothes for him. My next assignment had better be well north of the Mason-Dixon line.

Poop face.
Last night he actually slept for 6 hours straight. He probably would have gone on for longer, but Jenn got nervous and woke him up for a feeding.
And from here we have the many faces of Jackson. From looking at them I can see they were definitely taken before we got the creme for his baby acne. Lovable none the less.

That's it for now. So long and remember, the Jackson is always watching.

We've been a little busy, between my trip down to Morgan City for a week and general work stuff, but we haven't forgotten about putting stuff up and feeding the beast. So, here's the latest and greatest.
The PA office allows me a lot of opportunities. Apart for the networking I get to do and all the awesome deployments I get, we also have a great working relationship with the Saints and Hornets public relations guys. If one of the players needs to do some community service for some drunken shenanigans they know we're always looking for another high profile personality for one of our safe boating PSAs (public service announcements). Well, the first home game of the preseason for the Saints fell on military appreciation day and there's not another service they appreciate more than the Coast Guard. So, they made it rain on us by giving us 60 tickets and none of them nosebleed. It was a great time as our whole office went. Of course, we gave the rest out to some of our surrounding units, but we had to get first dibs.

This being our first pro football game we had to do it up right, even if the banner we were flying just so happened to have a 5 week old baby attached to it.

He'll understand when he's older. Probably should have taken some pics of the game or at least the cheerleaders, but I was otherwise occupied.

Water baby
We decided that today was the day we were going to introduce Jackson to the pool. I don't know if it was because the weather was perfect or because he'd slept through the night and was in a pretty good mood or because we have an abundance of baby beach clothes and accessories Jenn's been dying to make him wear, but he seemed to have a good time when he got use to the water.

Jenn gets to finally hang out with the cool kids. He was pretty tolerant of those sunglasses. As soon as we put them on he chilled right out.

The water's up to his belly button and he seems cool with it.

Even with the receding hairline, he still looks cool.
Catchin' some rays.
And there's yoga baby. I would kill for a robe like that...that's a Christmas hint.

By popular demanding...
So, Jac Young called me up and yelled at me for not being more active with my blog. She said she checks it every day and she hasn't seen as many recent changes as she'd like. Apparently Ms. Young isn't as busy as the rest of us. Well, it's our first day on the road. I'm tired. I'm sore. I'm irritated, but ya know what? It's fine. She's just a fan of our son and who can really fault her for that. Here's the latest batch.
Jackson looking like I feel on the first leg of our pilgrimage back home.
Just getting a nice shot of that bald spot for posterity. 70 years from now he'll just be a wrinkly version of what we see here.
Jack peekin' at somebody.
Tickle fight!
Jenn is of the opinion that this dress she's making him wear to bed is "cute" and not entirely girly. Just because it has cookie monster on it doesn't give it any powers of masculinity. Who said that the cookie monster was even a "he"? Because he's blue we're suppose to assume it's male? Now, Bert and Ernie, now there were some fine upstanding gentlemen. The long and the short of it is that it's too long to be a t-shirt, there are no legs for pants...it's a dress. Point me.
Lookin' a little glassy. If you can zoom in you can see a reflection in his eyes of me standing precariously above him on the bed. Not the best example-setter, but be honest, who didn't get that sick, worried feeling in their stomach when they heard I was going to be responsible for another living being?
Oh, and the dress has mittens! How nice for you! Momma's boy. I was trying to get his attention, but I guess whistling and yelling, "Heeeeere Jack!" doesn't work on humans.
And this is how Jack says goodnight. Goodnight world!
